Employability Specialist

REPORTS TO: Director of BristolWORKS!

SUMMARY:

The Employability Specialist will work with BristolWORKS! participants beginning at intake, through the transition to job placement, higher-level training, and/or college, and post-training. The Employability Specialist will be the primary contact person for participants and will be responsible for collecting and tracking data. The selected candidate must be flexible to meet the needs of the participants and their training schedules to include evenings and Saturdays, when necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Outreach, recruit, and enroll participants in BristolWORKS! programs.

•Promote BristolWORKS! upcoming events via email and social media.

•Conduct program orientations.

•Conduct intake and facilitate assessments.

•Work with participants to compile individualized portfolios.

•Maintain individual files and documents.

•Build professional relationships with participants to engage and encourage participation.

•Maintain accurate records of participants’ progress and outcomes for reporting purposes.

•Provide case management for participants, including career counseling, resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies.

•Develop and maintain relationships with instructors, program staff, and community partners.

•Willingness to travel to work sites and community meetings.

•Prepare and submit monthly reports to the Director.

•Other duties as assigned.

•Tasks/responsibilities will provide support & services to individuals suffering from adverse health and/or economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred, not required.

Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in workforce development/employability or related field.

Experience facilitating career development workshops/trainings.

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Ability to work with and engage diverse audiences.

Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply.

SALARY RANGE:

$21.00 - $24.00 per hour.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Applications.

Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn).
